Labioplasty is a less common operation, which makes the cost of the procedure higher than that of other plastic surgeries, around $7,000 in the US and £6,800 in the UK. Abroad, surgeons in Latin America, Asia, and Eastern Europe can perform the procedure for less than half the price.
In Costa Rica, Mexico, and Argentina, labioplasty costs no more than $3,000 or £2,100. Cosmetic surgeons in these countries have performed labia reduction since the procedure was developed in the 1990s. Many doctors have studied plastic surgery in the US and UK, and all surgeons are JCI certified. While patients are under general anesthesia, doctors remove excess tissue from the exterior of the valve. All facilities use state-of-the-art medical equipment. Laser surgery is available too. Recovery time is short, in a relaxed tropical environment, and patients will be able to walk and use the bathroom soon after the operation. In six to eight weeks, patients can resume intercourse.
In Eastern Europe, the Czech Republic, and Poland are leading destinations for women seeking labioplasty abroad. The cost is between $1,000 and $2,000, or £750 and £1,500. Hospitals in these countries are clean and comfortable, and the doctors and staff speak English.
