Born and raised in Costa Rica, Maricela Zamora-Carelock has been playing the guitar and performing since she was fourteen. Growing up, her first audiences were those in her own school, hospitals and orphanages. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Costa Rica in pursuit of an Education Major. While there, she discovered her love for music and ultimately launched her singing career. Her talent for singing and writing songs quickly developed and her music spread across Costa Rica.
Maricela has been in the United States since 1989. She is the mother of seven children and one step son.
Her motto quickly became "Give the Gift of Laughter". Since then, she has traveled and inspired thousands both young and old alike. As an innovative speaker and composer, her creative music and lyrics have influenced countless lives around the world through radio, TV shows, and live performances.
Her bilingual shows encourage good morals such as love, friendship, respect, health, obedience, excellence, and self esteem. Her powerful combination of entertaining and teaching makes any ordinary event extraordinary and fun. She has written songs for every occasion and her friends –the puppets- are almost REAL!
